The school store will be open at lunch time on Friday. Children can bring any amount of money, not to exceed $5, to spend at the store. This is not mandatory! Please only send in money if you want you child to buy little things like pencils and erasers and small toys. If you choose to send in money with your child for the school store, we have a few rules in KM to manage things easily and smoothly.
All money for the school store MUST come to school in a zip top baggie or sealed envelope.
The baggie or envelope MUST be labeled with your child’s name AND the words SCHOOL STORE so we know who the money belongs to and what it is intended for.
The baggie or envelope MUST come to school IN YOUR CHILD’S VIP, not in their pocket or lunch box!
Mrs. D and I truly appreciate you sticking to these rules as it makes the morning go more smoothly in preparing for the school store and it prevents tears from lost/misplaced money, especially at the last minute.
Also, the student council is collecting money for Turkey’s For America this month. Please send in any spare change to donate to this cause. (See why we want to be sure all money that comes to school labeled for it’s purpose!) Thanks!
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: I have been asked to communicate to all Westwood families that trick-or-treating in Westwood has been postponed to this Thursday, November 3. The decision is due to ongoing safety concerns related to this weekend’s storm (in particular downed power lines), and due to the fact that over twenty percent of Westwood families are still without power.
Starting Tuesday, November 1, we will be making a slight change to the dismissal routine for walkers. Now that the kids have been in school for a few months and I am getting to know the family members who pick up, we no longer feel it is necessary for me to shake every one’s hand before they leave. So beginning next Tuesday, I will bring the children out our blue door (as I have been) but they may just go right to their parent (or grandparent or babysitter, etc.) when they see them rather than having to wait to shake my hand. They will be instructed to stay lined up on the wall with me if they do not see their parent and wait with me until someone arrives. No one will be permitted to just walk off or go play on the structure without a parent being present. If you have any question about this, please feel free to email me. Thanks!
Just want to remind everyone of tomorrow’s field trip to Fox Hill Village. Please remember to send costumes to school in a bag labeled with their names. Please keep accessories at home (wands, light sabers, etc.). It would be easier if they can just slip their costumes over their clothes so we do not have to have 19 children taking turns changing in our little bathroom but if it is necessary to completely change out of their regular clothes, we will accommodate them. We will be returning for lunch. Lunches can be bought or brought as usual although we will be eating in our classroom due to a late return. Snacks are not necessary (except for our allergy students) as Fox Hill will provide a morning snack. Please let me know if you have any questions.
pajama day! The kids are welcome to wear their pajamas to school. Please no pajamas with “feet” and no slippers.
