Greetings Visitors!
Welcome to my Kindergarten classroom web page! I’m Mrs. Amy Monteiro. The 2011-2012 school year is my 18th year working in early childhood education and 12th year teaching Kindergarten (11th in Westwood). I created this page to quickly and easily communicate back-and-forth with the families of the children in my class and I welcome anyone to post comments and questions to me (or to the other families) through this site. Please check back often to stay up to date with what’s going on in our classroom. You can subscribe through an rss feed reader (feed button is at the bottom left hand corner of this page) or below to receive posts via email. I’m looking forward to another fun year in KM!

Nice to be recognized…
...although it was only by some silly teacher website with no real credence. Now if it was awarded by the MTA or NEA, this button would appear right at the top of the page!

Archive for November, 2010

Happy November! Hope everyone had a good time last night. We certainly did although I’m counting my blessings that it is my husband who has to get my overtired kids up and out of the house and not me! On that note, please help us today by remembering Halloween candy is not a healthy snack! If you must send it to school, please pack it as an after lunch treat and keep it to a minimum to avoid the sugar rush and resulting crash. I’m going to insist that kids not eat candy during morning snack. Thanks!

Tomorrow we will be having our pizza party lunch reward for collecting the most Box Tops. Feel free to send something different if your child does not like pizza. Your child can also buy a lunch and/or milk from the cafeteria as an option.

Please keep checking the photo page here as we hope to have some pictures added soon from our field trip, our Halloween celebration, and tomorrow’s pizza party. A big thank you to Mrs. Shu for being our class photographer this year.

The eight families that have conferences with me on Wednesday afternoon will be receiving their child’s status report in their VIP today so don’t forget to empty it out this evening. The remaining families will receive their child’s status report next Monday.
