Lots of loose school store money came in today in VIP’s and although some came in small zip top bags or envelopes, only a few came in with names written on the bags. If the money was still loose in the VIP when the kids put their VIP in the bucket, we put it in a baggie and put their name on it for them. Unfortunately though, some of the kids get so excited for school store, they take their money out of their VIP before they hand in their VIP, and then drop it without realizing it, resulting in lost money. We currently have $3 in a baggie with no name on it that was found on the floor and we have no idea who it belongs to! No one is claiming it! If you think it may belong to your child, please email me before 11:25! I can’t stress how important it is that you label your child’s money in an envelope or baggie with their name and “school store” AND that you let them know that you are giving them money and how much you are giving them! Thanks!
Next Wednesday is Look-Alike Day at Sheehan. Traditionally, the K classes have decided to celebrate this day as a class so as to not leave anyone out and to reduce the coordination that would need to take place between parents. Mrs. Cole had a very smart recommendation of having the kids wear their green Westwood Kindergarten t-shirts. I think that is a great idea! So green Westwood Kindergarten t-shirts and either jeans (depending on the weather) or denim or blue shorts or skirts and sneakers it is!
Of course, this may present a laundry problem for some families because we would also like them to wear their green Westwood Kindergarten t-shirts for the field trip on Friday! Hopefully, this won’t be too difficult but trust that you have my sympathy on this one. My kids both had picture day at their school this week, but on different days…and I have to trust Mr. Monteiro to get them dressed and ready in the mornings!
Don’t forget to get field trip permission slips back to us ASAP!
Just wanted to let you know…
6/2 Will be Look Alike Day-In the past we have decided on a common outfit to wear as a class rather than each child fining a friend or two to dress like. We will decide about a week in advance. In the past, we have done something like jeans and a red shirt.
The May/June Service Project will be collecting nonperishable food for the local food pantry.
