Happy New Year!

snowpers.gif2008 has begun and we are off and running in the new year! Yesterday a real live author came to visit us to talk about how he learned to write and draw and how he got his books published. Tomorrow we will be starting a Social Studies project on Community Helpers with our 5C buddys. Be sure to ask what community helper your child is studying with his/her buddy(s). Friday the school store will be open. There is a $4 limit on spending. Friday will also be an unofficial Patriots spirit day in KM. Wear your red, white, and blue as a show of support as the home team competes in the AFC championship. Next Wednesday (which is an early release day) will be a school wide Tie spirit day. Borrow a tie from your dad (or brother, or grandfather, etc.) and wear it to school. Remember, there is no school on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Reports cards will be mailed home of Friday, January 25. With all these exciting activities going on, it’s no wonder I have not gotten this month’s newsletter out!boots.gif

Also, please remember to send snow boots and snow pants to school whenever there is snow on the ground. There is a Sheehan School rule that says, “No boots, no snow” and in Kindergarten we add “no snow pants, no snow” as Kindergarten kids tend to want to sit and slide in the snow, not just walk in it! If your child does not have snow pants/boots, they will have to stay on the plowed blacktop during recess.
